Can odansetron (zofran) IV liquid be given orally? If a patient is prescribed odansetron 8mg orally, and tablets are not available, can we use the intravenous liquid orally? If the patient receives an oral dose in the morning, and an IV dose later on in the evening, can there be a doubling-up effect as the delayed absorbtion of the morning oral dose catches up with the rapidly absorbed IV dose?

iwuvmyhubby replied: "i'm not a doctor but i can guess that the iv liquid is more concentrated than an oral medication so i wouldn't take it orally."

bayou chick replied: "I wouldn't do anything without an order from the prescribing MD....call down to the Pharmacy and see what they say. I'll bet that they will tell you no."

dreamlessleep replied: "Ask the hospital pharmacist. The bio-availability of an IV formulation may be poor when given orally. It may not be properly absorbed, it may not be absorbed in a bio-effective form or it may have a large First Pass effect (cleared in the liver before leaving the portal circulation to the rest of the body. The PDR may not include this data."

Unknown replied: "i don tink so that IV Zofran can be used orally....it's best to consult a doctor esp when IV solutions is concerned..."

Do the drugs Zofran and Emend come in liquid form to be put in an IV to get rid of postop nausea and vomiting? I hate general anesthesia, i always get violently ill afterwards. For this upcoming surgery, I'll have a 6" abdominal incision AND I'm now a lapband patient too....If I start vomiting after surgery it will be a total disaster....I'll either have the lapband slip and have to have surgery to fix it, or pop my stitches on the incicion while puking and need to have that fixed. Any GOOD suggestions here are most welcome....any snotty smart*ss answers are not. I begged the Dr for a spinal or epidural, but he refuses because the surgery will be about 4 hours long.

puppysyndrome replied: "Zofran can be put into an IV and Stemetil can as well but Stemetil is not readily available in many places any more. Zofran would probably help the vomiting but you might end up with a dandy headache! Emend is taken orally and you would take that for a couple of days prior to surgery. It is more commonly used prior to chemotherapy but it is very good...........might make you sleepy."

Has anyone had to take Zofran for morning sickness for their entire pregnancy? Currently I'm 17-1/2 weeks. I have been taking the Zofran that I was prescribed since about 10 weeks - my morning sickness was so severe I couldn't keep liquids down. I've had to take it once a day since then, right when I get up, and I have found that if I do not take it I get really sick. My last attempt to stop taking it was Friday, and I threw up for three hours, until I was finally able to get a dose in me and have it stay down. I know my doctor would never have prescribed the drug - or the amount of it she's allowed me, which is 40 pills a month - unless she felt it was to my and my baby's benefit, but I'm concerned I'm going to have to rely on it until I give birth. I'm happy with the results, as it keeps me from getting sick and hasn't produced any side effects, and I've been able to gain back some of the 15lbs. I lost in the first trimester. Has anyone had to take Zofran their entire pregnancy, and what was the outcome?

theosharatos replied: "I'm not sure of that brand prescription but my last pregnancy I had to take phenegran because I was just as sick as you are. I took them for about 6 months and as I can see it did not affect the baby. Now with this pregnancy, which is my 4th, I was just as sick as before. I didn't want to take the med this time so I just dealt with the sickness and i finally got over it after 6 months. Now in my last trimester, I just stopped getting sick one day. Do a search on line. I'm sure you will find plenty of stuff to read that people have to say about your med. Jennifer"

Chanda replied: "I too took Zofran not he entire pregnancy but most of it. You may find down the road that you wont need it. After I think about the 6-7 month I would have periodic sickness so I would take on those moments. DOnt worry you dr wouldnt have given it to you like you said if it was unsafe. Good luck I feel for you on the sickness I lost 12 lbs also."

Samantha N replied: "yes, I've taken it with 2 of my pregnancies and the outcome was a healthy happy baby! (and me not wasting away or passing out from complete dehydration) It's fine, you have to get some relief and be able to survive the pregnancy!"

Has anyone taken Zofran during pregnancy? At 9-1/2 weeks, I think I'm at my wits end. I'll have one day where I can eat without throwing up, and then the next three days or so I won't be able to hold anything down. My nausea seems to be getting worse and worse. I talked to my doctor this morning, and she called in a prescription for Zofran for me. I'm going to pick it up later and would like to know if anyone else has taken it, how it made you feel, and whether or not it worked and allowed you to eat and drink with some normalcy. The doctor stressed I'd have to be admitted if it didn't work to the point where I could at least keep liquids down consistently. I have already tried Reglan, which gave me an allergic reaction. If anyone could give me their experiences, I'd greatly appreciate it.

liljess69692004 replied: "It is safe. according to this website. "

Lynnette T replied: "Yes, I was given Zofran after going into the ER for dehydration, vomiting, and a bad headache. It really really helps...it's the best stuff to take during pregnancy for nausea. The ER doc. did tell me not to drink anything for 20 minutes after taking it. And yes, if you aren't able to keep liquids down orally, the only way to get them in you is by IV fluids. Sip gatorade, it's like IV fluids in a bottle. Good Luck, I hope everything works out. I have heard a lot of positive responses about others whom were prescribed Zofran as well!"

Kris H replied: "I took Zofran for several weeks and it was the only thing that helped me through the day. I was hospitalized twice for dehydration and that's when they wrote me the prescription. I took the kind that disolves under your tongue, and I found it worked best to keep it by my bed and take on before I got up in the morning. Then, about 30 to 45 minutes later eat breakfast."

Kristy replied: "I was prescribed just one to take before my glucose tolerance test because I kept throwing up the stuff I had to drink. The Zofran did work in that I didn't throw up, but it gave me a terrible headache. Good luck."

What should Little Francis eat for dinner? - SURGERY UPDATE-? Francis has become very sick after surgery. Francis asked for zofran so he wouldn't get sick, but by the time they gave it to him it was too late and he was already sick and throwing up. They gave Francis another drug that also made him very sick. Francis can't remember anything that happened yesterday because he was so sick. After I took Francis home, Francis had a horrible headache and tylenol didn't help. Then Francis started to throw up black liquid and screamed in pain, so Dave and I rushed him to the emergency room. Turns out Francis was dehydrated because he couldn't hold down any food or water. Francis also had a horrible migraine and his eye pressure was too high, so the nice people at the emergency room gave him zofran, morphine, high blood pressure medication, liquid, and two different eye drops to help Francis. Francis also had to keep the IV in his arm overnight in case of a relapse. Francis can hold down apple juice, crackers, chicken soup, and a kit kat bar. I'm unsure of what I should make him for dinner. I don't want Francis to throw up.

Logan and Ella's Mommy replied: "I missed you."

Kathryn replied: "Kisses to Little Francis. Hope the nausea passes soon. Sips of chicken noodle soup, plain saltines, pretzels. Drink gingerale with a bit of water added to cut some of the fizz. Sips of chicken broth. Plenty of hugs and kisses on the forehead always help too."

NinjaJenny replied: "Make him Apple Cracker Chicken soup with a melted kit kat bar inside and I hope he feels better soon! I missed you <3"

Simone mommy of two! replied: "try apple juice freezies... sometimes really cold things can help settle your tummy. then try some chicken noodle soup or even just broth or jello or something.."

Missy replied: "chicken soup with crushed crackers in it. water to drink. hope little francis feels better!!!!"

Help w/ morning sickness? I need some tips for the severe morning sickness.... I have lost ten pounds in two weeks and my doctor prescribed Phenergan and Zofran but phenergan has no relief at all and I had an allergic reaction to zofran... so I need some tips... as soon as anything, food/liquids hit my stomach they come straight back up!!! And Im just 7 wks.... I still have a few wks of this to go =[

Sara replied: "When i was 7 weeks i had the same problem. I was in and out of the ER for fluids. Sometimes nothing will help but try to eat crackers before you even open your eyes in the morning and keep them near you all day. Also Doritos for some reason helped me a lot try them. Good luck!!"

fierceangel replied: "My friend had Hyperemesis Gravida (extreme morning sickness). Unfortunately, nothing stayed down and she was in and out of the hospital (IV replenishment) until 20 weeks. Keep up on the fluids and your dailly weights! If your physician feels you are dehydrated, they will admit you."

MetalCraze replied: "Avoid warm places as heat can increase the nausea feelings. Take naps during the day (but not right after eating). Tiredness plays a big part in morning sickness. Get enough sleep at night. Get out of bed slowly in the morning. Try eating plain crackers or dry cereal before you get out of bed in the morning. Smells: Open windows or turn on exhaust fans when cooking and after meals. Cooking in the microwave usually produces less odors. Silly as it sounds, carry a handkerchief with a few drops of a non nausea causing essential oil (lemon for example) in it and breath through it if you can't get away from the smell that is bothering you. Food and Drink: Avoid greasy or spicy foods as they often cause nausea or heartburn. Eat what you want when you want it. Your cravings will not lead you the wrong way. Have frequent protein snacks. (Low fat meats and seafood, nuts, eggs and beans are high protein.) Eat smaller meals every two hours or so. Eating something salty before a meal can help you "make it through" a meal. Do not drink fluids with your meals. Non caffeinated teas like peppermint and ginger can help calm nausea. Drink small amounts of fluids regularly though out the day to avoid dehydration. Do not skip meals if you can help it. Avoid spicy and fried food - both eating and smelling it can increase your nausea. Cold food may have less nausea inducing smells associated with them. Supplements: Try taking your prenatals later in the day. Talk to your doctor about: Vitamin B6 - 50 mg. daily. Vitamin B6 has been shown to help with pregnancy induced nausea. Ginger capsules: 250 mg. three times daily. Ginger has long been associated with alleviating nausea. (Remember drinking ginger ale when you felt sick when you were little?) Ask your doctor if you can stop taking your Prenatals temporarily to see if the nausea diminishes. You may still need to take a Folic Acid supplement to help protect your baby. Talk to your doctor about not taking iron supplements unless you are anemic. Iron supplements can be hard for your stomach to deal with."

ShAwNnA W. replied: "i am surprised phenagren didn't work it helps most woman did u tell ur doc about it it might be more to it than that"

Jessica W replied: "uhm....ya drink lots of fluids and eat saltine crackers when i had morning sickness i took tums and sometimes zantak and it kinda helped. try that and hopefully that will help 17 and almost 4 months for my little girl"

mumi2b2miracle-Gabriel =4/MAr/09 replied: "hey hun, Definitely contact the doctor as you need nutrients. Also try plain and lighter foods such as salty crackers ( no flavour ) try sweet sucking lollies. At least its something going down in the mean time. Try eating slowly and not near any other foods. That you can smell or see.. God Bless xx"

adidaschik341 replied: "Im 18 weeks pregnant and as soon as my feet hit the floor in the AM im bowing down to the Porcelain god. And then it last all day long. I am on the same as you phenergan and Zofran. I have found that if you get that sick feeling get something on your stomach. The worst thing you can possibly do is throw up stomach acid, my throat is killing me bc of it. I like drinking welches grape juice if i feel sick bc it kinda helps the taste when it comes back up. (sorry for details but it helps) Dry rice krispies are a life saver, they are a little sweet but still dry. Dont drink anything acidic... ie orange juice, it burns so badly coming up. And eating breads in the morning those biscuits that come in the blue tube you get like a 4 pack of them, they are really easy on the stomach especially for mornings. Bananas, mashed potatoes, applesause is really good with cinnamon. Preggy pops work sometimes not all the time, and if your out and bout chewing gum, andy kind that you like the taste of helped me alot. And Last but not least SEABANDS, all it is is accupressure there 10 bucks at drug stores. you can take them any where and they help me when i travel and cant take phenergan bc it makes me tired. and cant drive long distances with it. Good Luck"

piggly5000 replied: "I'm so sorry... I know how horrible it is... I'm answering you from the depths of morning sickness myself. I find that if I keep trying to eat (even if it just comes back up) eventually something sticks and I feel better. Sometimes smelling lemons helps me, or sucking on sour hard candies. I won't give you any advice about eating crackers, I feel like if I see another cracker or someone suggests crackers to me one more time... Chewing on mint leaves helped a bit too and thankfully it's a remedy that you don't have to swallow! Also, I find that watching a movie or reading a book to distract me while eating helps a little. My sister had hyper-emesis and she swore by Ensure weight gain drinks. She lost 20 lbs during her first trimester and didn't even show until 7 months and then had a 9lb healthy baby. Wishing you the best! Try to sleep as much as possible!"

Has anyone had their gallbladder taken out right after pregnancy? I had a terrible pregnancy (vomiting etc.) it was so bad that my doctor had to put me on medication zofran to stop the vomiting. I was in bed all day for almost 5 months. i would get sick non stop i couldn't keep anything down (food or liquid) I was vomiting blood.... it was just terrible! 4 weeks after my son was born i had to have my gallbladder taken out. i had the pains when i was pregnant but didn't know what it was.... i was wondering if this happened to anyone else because i really want another baby but i'm terrified this will happen again. My son is now 3 and it isnt so bad when its your first baby to be sick like that but i can't do it when i have another one to watch!!! Any advice would be great!!! And no my doctor can't tell me "for sure" thats what it was and he has no idea why i was so sick.... i just want to know if anyone else was sick like that so i can maybe figure out if my gallbladder was the cause, then i won't have to worry next time!

**Write your own song** replied: "My aunt had hers out while she was pregnant. The pains stopped. I don't think you have anything to worry about next time around. I'd talk to your doctor just to be sure. Best of luck!"

iam1funnychick replied: "When I was 7 months pregnant with my 3rd child, I had to have my gallbladder removed. I had a rough first trimester with my 1st child, but NOTHING compared to the gallbladder attack. I was literally clawing the walls -seriously. If I had to guess, I'd say it was the gallbladder that made you so horribly sick. Take care!"

dontknow replied: "when i was pregnant with my second child. i was so sick everyday all day for the whole 38 weeks it was awful. i was also on the zofran also. and i was also put in the hospital for 3 days because i was so sick. i had my baby Aug 3,2005 and Sept 8,2005 had the gallbladder removed. then after that on Nov 30 got put in the hospital with blood clots in the lungs so that was not a good year."

lenurse replied: "It's common for women to have gallbladder problems during pregnancy. Gallbladder attacks can be very painful and yes cause nausea/vomiting. I would say that your gallbladder problems caused you the pain, but nausea is common during pregnancy no matter what. I had my gallbladder removed 3 years ago and am now pregnant with my first. I was sicker than a dog in my first trimester and I had no gallbladder. I also used Zofran because mine got so bad. I ruined the seats in my old car :( I'm willing to bet your next pregnancy won't be as horrific but you may still get the nausea/vomiting."

Worried about my anti-nausea pills during pregnancy? I was so sick with morning sickness that I couldn't keep liquids down. So my doctor prescribed me to take Ondansetron (Zofran) and Metoclopramide (Reglan.) I haven't throw up once since I started them yesterday, still a little sick to my stomach, but keeping food and liquids down. But now I have a headache, I can deal with this, it's not even so bad I want Tylenol (just bad enough to take my hair out of it's ponytail though.) Now I worry about what the baby is getting. Would my 7 week old baby be getting headaches too? What if any amount of medicine is getting through to baby? I know my doctor wouldn't give these to me if she didn't feel like they weren't safe, but I still worry. I wonder if I should go off of the pills when I'm just at home, I can deal with short bouts of nausea and if I get dehydrated again I can just take the pills and get water down. What are your experiences or knowledge about these pills or other anti-nausea pills during pregnancy?

sasha_1207 replied: "just trust your doc"

Chella-Raelynn Marie due 10/7/09 replied: "yea my anti nausea pills made me more sick than ever! Blurry eyes, headaches it was just ALL bad, so i stopped them, the morning sickness (as bad as it was) was better than when i was on those pills! Good luck it does get better!"

Classychic04 replied: "My friend girl took some months ago when she was pregnant with her son...Her and her son are fine now! Everything you take and or go through does affect the baby in some kind of way ofcourse but it shouldnt harm the baby. Your doctor would never give you anything that would! Make sure you just stick to reg tylenol and whatever your doctor has you take. Good luck girlie!!!"

Becky replied: "Your baby's fine =) i took some for a bit just when i really needed it and it sounds like you do so don't worry =)"

storm_goddess23 replied: "I was on reglan and phenergan (sp?) with my last pregnancy and my daughter came out fine."

catrina230 replied: "I'm actually glad you posted this because i am in the same position. My dr. prescribed me phenergan for my morning sickness because i couldn't keep anything down, and then Metoclopramide for my car sickness/motion sickness. I haven't taken the Metoclopramide yet but today was my first day taking phenergan and i have had a HORRIBLE headache in the left side of my head/eye all night. I read the directions and it said do not use during pregnancy unless your dr. feels the benefits outway the risks, so i am a little nervous and wondering if i too should stop taking it and just suck it up until my second trimester. I will tell you i was told to go to the pharmacy and ask for a SEABAND they are bracelets you wear on your wrists that target pressure points to stop nausea, i got some today (they are 8.00 for 2) and they actually seemed to work for the time i had them on."

Erika - Bean due Feb 11 2010 replied: "You should ask your doctor about vitamin B6. It's completely healthy for baby and I have so far found it to be a lifesaver with morning sickness. I don't know about the ones you're on currently, though."

Meggan, RN replied: "Dehydration is much worse for you and your baby than the very little amount of the Zofran, Reglan, and Tylenol that he/she may be getting. All three of these drugs are safe to use while pregnant, and the doctors I work with prescribe them all the time. I seriously doubt your baby is getting a headache as well, but he/she may be feeling the effects of stress on your body, induced by the headache. If you don't want to take medicine for the headache, you can try taking a warm shower or bath, putting a cool towel on your forehead, and/or lying down in a darkened, quiet room."

Jordan replied: "I know you probably have heard this already but it will most likely all go away at around 12-15 weeks. It did for me! If the doctor prescribed it to you then it is fine to take while you are pregnant. What I did was i took ginger root vitamins, ate crackers, and drank sprite! Just try and keep carbs around so your stomach does not feel empty. Hope these help :)"

SkinCarePrincess replied: "No sweetie, your baby is not getting headaches because you are. Your baby will stress if he/she feels you stressing out. Your doctor is not going to give you anything, or tell you to do anything, that is going to harm you or the baby. If you want to ease the headache without medication, you can take your thumb and press on the bottom of your heel. That's the area for reflexology if I'm not mistaken! You can also take your fingertips and put them on each side of your neck, right below your head, and tip your head back, relaxing your head on your hands. This allows more oxygen to enter the brain."

Unique Snowflake replied: "I got sick during my pregnancy from the second trimester until I was in labour, and even then I threw up once (from the epidural; emergency c-section). Nothing I took worked at all, but I found that it would be exacerbated by things such as low blood sugars (I'm diabetic) and motion. Which meant that I was sick EVERY SINGLE TIME I got in a vehicle to go to work, or shopping or whatever I was doing that day. The thing is, you must keep things down for yourself and your baby. You and your baby are sharing nutrients, so if you don't have enough, the baby will take them anyway and leave you with a deficiency. If these drugs help you keep food down, they might be very necessary. If this goes on long term, you could be in a bit of trouble. So, take the drugs when you need them, and try and endure the headaches. My case is not typical, so there is a big chance that you will stop having nausea after the first trimester is over. I found the Ginger tablets did nothing, and the only way I coped with the combination of nausea, reflux and vomiting was to always have soda water and milk around. Not together, of course, that would probably make you feel worse ;) I really enjoyed my pregnancy, despite nausea and some very embarrassing public vomiting (haha) and I hope you have the opportunity to relax and reflect on the changes happening in and to you :) Congratulations on your pregnancy, good luck :)"

Brandee W replied: "I was diagnosed with severe morning sickness at 6 weeks pregnant and kept havcing to get stronger and stronger anti nausea meds. Finally they gave me Reglan and it would calm my stomach down enough to make me not puke but like you, it made me feel crappy. However, I figured that I rather feel crappy than throw up and become dehydrated because THAT can cause harm to the baby. The anti nausea meds are nothing compared to a dehydrated mother. Just keep taking them, your OB knows what is safe for your baby, they go through years and years of schooling."

Help!!! extreme morning sickness!!!!!? Im 7 weeks pregnant and have had a horrible time so far, I have had a pretty steady morning sickness. Puke once or twice a day, with very littve appeitite. Th dr knows about my apeitie problems. In fact I havnt really ate in 2 days now. But I have been keeping down fluids untill now... its now almost 2:30am and I have puked about 14 times since 10pm! Im to the point where there is nothing left to puke up I cant hold down any liquids now at all... Im starting to feel weak and have gotten the shakes a little bit.. I know go to your dr is the answer I will get from all of you.. but its 2 30 in the morning my question is... is there anythign that will help.. I was on zofran for my sickness but I ran out.. I tried crackers and sipping on liquids I have preggie pops and I tried the whole ginger thing.. nothing.. any advise would be great I am beyond miserable! should I go to the ER tonight for dehydration possibly.. do you think I would be dehydrated? or can I wait to call my dr in the AM??? PLEASE HELP

BayB_G replied: "You should def. go to the ER ASAP!!!"

mommy 2b replied: "u should go to the er right now u may be dehydrated and that can affect ur baby!! better safe than sorry!!"

Dee117 replied: "I would go to the ER tonight, sounds like dehydration. there's really no way to get rid of morning sickness nless u are taking zofran which you already are, get a refill. Try sleeping on your side and saltine crackers can help too. THe first 3 to 4 months are hell, but once you get to about 5 months it all goes away."

VeRo- mummii-to-be- 04 MArch 09 replied: "yes, go to the E.R they will put u first priority as it is more important than someone there with sore ankle. 14 times is too much especially if u start puking up blood isnt good. i read. good luck- dont hesitate to go now"

Beca M replied: "Your right i am going to tell you to go to the doctors and i would go NOW!........ I think that maybe you should try to cool down your body, suck on ice, put a nice wet cold cloth on your forehead! just sit in a comfortable position and try to get water in. Flat sprite? Flat ginger ale? What i would do is just drink as much and as quick as i could in between each time just because the throwing up is not as bad if there is something to get rid of. I guess I'm just guessing the more water that goes in and comes out sort of washes you out... ? The dr on the other hand will be able to give you liquids through an I V so you will feel a lot better, I don't think this has anything to do with the preganancy since your this sick."

Lilah L replied: "If it is as bad as it sounds go to the E.R. no harm done in being sure, if your ill then your in the hospital and if your not, well now you are sure because a doctor told you. go to the E.R. and you'll at least be given an I.V. which will re hydrate and give you vitamins that is both good for you and your baby also ask when your on your own if you can drink something like gatorade should you feel dehydrated.. another thing to look for when trying to determine if your dehydrated is the color of your urine if its a dark yellow you need to drink more water if its a faint yellow your ok if its too clear you "might" not for sure but might be over hydrated and your flushing your self out as well as some nutrients Good Luck !"

thezaylady replied: "You have my deepest empathy! I nearly lost my second child from my being dehydrated due to the morning sickness. The substance that literally saved my life (and my baby) was Strawberry flavored milk. That was the one thing for a long time that I could sip and my body didn't reject. When I got stronger, I graduated to canned peaches, but I had to be more careful with that. Anything more than small bites made things work in reverse again. Since then, whenever any friend of mine is going through morning sickness, I would recommend strawberry flavored milk (regular, such as Nestle's Quik, not a diet or a high-fiber drink) and the results have been very positive! However, if you feel you are in danger of being dehydrated now, go to the ER. The dehydration can cause early labor, even weeks after your body has been re-hydrated, which is what happened to me. I almost went into full labor at 5 months (a good 2 months after I was eating regularly again) before the ER stopped the contractions. If you are in doubt, go to the ER anyways. There's no point in taking chances. On your way home, if you don't have some in the house, pick up some strawberry milk mix and give it a try. Good luck, sweetie! I hope the best for you. BTW, my daughter was born on time and is now a happy and healthy 11 year old."

Ariel D replied: "if you have been sick that long, and have nothing to throw up now think of how your heaving up nothing is feeling to the baby, please please please go to the er!"

Kerpppina replied: "Try slushy maybe that can help and you also try motion sickness bracelets. When you feel thirsty suck on ice. try to eat lite stuff and very little every so often. Also maybe you should try pedialite or gatorade to rehydrate.. If you go to the emergency room all they are going to do is inject you with IV.... When I was pregnant I got sick all the time. The only thing I could keep down was slushy because of the ice, and I end up and the hospital so many times for dehydration. But what really help was the motion sickness bracelet... Doctor will always tell me that morning sickness even do unpleasant is good because that means you're baby is doing just fine by responding to what your eating or drinking.. I don't mean to scare you but it can also mean to much hormones which can mean multiples (twins) which that's what I had 3 weeks ago.."

Feeling better already....is something wrong? I'm almost 11 weeks pregnant with my second, and last weekend I was throwing up so much that I finally called the doctor on Monday, who gave me a prescription for Zofran. (My nausea and vomiting started earlier this time around, but overall hasn't been as bad as it was with my first pregnancy.) For the first few days I had to take it twice a day just to keep liquids down, now I'm only taking it in the mornings. I'm trying to wean off of it if I can, and I've noticed I'm actually feeling a lot better, especially with not needing it in the afternoon/evening. The fact that I'm starting to feel better doesn't mean that anything is wrong, right? With my first pregnancy, I had to take Zofran past my 20th week because I was so sick...now I'm worried because I'm not as sick! I know this is all stupid, but would like a little reassurance. My last sonogram was at 9 weeks - Dr. said it's a healthy baby. Thanks....

Lil Abigail Rose due 12/30/09! replied: "every pregnancy is different. Symptoms are dif ( or could be) and even though u may have the morning sickness like last time doesn't mean that it will last as long. You may even experience different symptoms this time that last, or not experience any of the ones u had last time. I am 23w4d with my 2nd child and although this one is also a girl ( my dghtr is to), the pregnancys are dif. My leg cramps and acne are much, much worse this time around. However, I am not getting light headed and dizzy like the last time. So, I wouldn't worry bout it. Take it as a blessing! Good luck and Congrats!"

preg with surro babe due 12/12 replied: "no it just means your morning sickness is going away. Maybe its a sign, i have a friend who has really bad morning sickness when carrying her boys and when she had her daughter she stopped being sick at 12 weeks."

4 Weeks Till Haley's Due replied: "No morning sickness does not = healthy pregnancy or baby. every pregnancy is different so you not being that sick until your 20th week like last time is not uncommon. by the 12th week i had no sign that i could be pregnant other then the occasional cramp. Until you start bleeding or having bad cramps your fine."
