Is it ok to take percoset with phenogran? My friend just had a cyst that burst in her ovary, and she was perscribed percoset and phenogran. Is it ok to mix the both of them? She feels like puking but needs the percoset. Any answers? What else is bad to mix with either? Please answer A.S.A.P. Time/Date: 11:12:25 PM June 5th 2009 She took 2 percosets - "Endocet 5-325" Nausea and Vomiting meds: "Promethazine 25 MG Tablet San"

susan replied: "If they were prescribed together that its OK. If you have more questions call any 24 hr pharmacy and ask them."

Urgently replied: "if iam right phenogran is for nausea so it should help with the puking."

Thalassaki replied: "call the pharmasict now an they can tell her is its allowed. good luck!!"

Scott P replied: "It's ok to take phenergan (promethazine) with percocet (oxycodone/acetaminophen). Phenergan is often prescribed to help relieve the nausea associated with taking narcotic pain relievers. You can tell your friend that, in addition to the phenergan, it may help if she can eat a small snack just before taking it (the percocet, that is). All the best. Good luck!"

ToxLabRat replied: "Yes it is ok to take this drug with the Oxycodone/Tylenol mixture (which are the actual drugs that make up the name brand Percocet). Phenergran is the name brand for a drug called Promethizine and it is an antiemetic ( a drug to help with nausea), in many ways similar to Benadryl (which you can buy over the counter for allergies). This drug is VERY commonly prescribed by doctors for patients who they have also prescribed an opioid pain medication such as Oxycodone. As long as the patient does not have any allergies to any of the components of the Phenergran and is not pregnant, then there is no issue with taking these drugs together. Just be aware, that she should NOT drive or do anything which requires her to be alert, as not only will the pain medication cause drowsiness and dizziness, but the Promethizine will cause drowsiness in most patients as well."

Increased morning sickness? Hi ladies, Happy thanksgiving to everyone! I had a question to ask. I am 10 1/2 weeks pregnant and in the early stages of my pregnancy I had severe morning sickness. then when I got to week 8 it decreased a lot and I felt soo much better. But now it is bad again =(. yesterday (sorry if TMI) I threw up 3 times in one day. Usually I throw up every other day but only once and today it has only been once so far lol. Is this normal for it to increase like this? I was prescribed Promethazine 25 mg tablets for it but I haven't taken them yet would they be safe to take. Im paranoid about taking medicines because my son was born with a heart defect even though they told me I had nothing to do with it it was just something that happened. Well any stories and advice would be appreciated thank you!

ms bell replied: "I was very sick 24/7 when I was pregnant. I tried some morning sickness medication but had a bad reaction to it. I couldn't move my hand and had to go to the emergency room. Then I couldn't hold any food or water down and had to go to the emergency room. I lost 4 lbs between my 3rd and 4th month. I was so sick all the time and depressed that I'm glad its all done and over with. Being pregnant is horrible."

Terra I replied: "This exact same thing happened to me. I was feeling so much better around 8 weeks then 11 weeks hit and I was like "oh crap here we go again" by the time I was about 14 weeks my morning sickness was gone completly. It's normal for it to come and go but if your finding that your can't keep anything down, especially fluids for a long period of time it may be a good idea to contact your doc, they may want you to go into the ER to get an IV to keep you hydrated. If I was able to catch the nausea before it got really bad a product called preggy pops usually worked quite well for me. You can get them at most health food or maternity stores. Congrats on your pregnancy!!"

baby #1 due 6.25.09 <3 replied: "I'm 10 weeks as well and have horrid morning sickness. My doctor prescribed me Zofran and it is AMAZING. I'm not even nauseous while I'm on it. I was told to only take it sparingly, but it is the safest one during pregnancy. I know promethazine is also safe, but it makes you extremely tired. Anyway, try to take the natural route on the days where it's possible (crackers, biscuits, seabands, etc.), but on the days when it's miserable and you can't keep ANYTHING down, it will be better for your baby if you take the medicine. Good luck!"

someone has cancer is going through chemo, can they inject phenergan pill after dilute and filter? any suggestions on how to safely do this so it doesnt burn so much? they are very nausia. each tablet has 25 mg of promethazine. they realize they shouldnt inject drugs that are not intended to be injected so if your only advice is "dont inject" then please save your fingers the hassle of typing this are there ways to minimize this clot issue such as 1) oral aspirin, or 2) very slow administer the medicine & dilution

Song_bird replied: "Phenergan can cause phlebitis i'd suggest a hanging bag of Phenergan over it being injecting directly into my vein. I know they want to inject it directly in but it is kind of risky.... Does he/she have a PICC line? Maybe they can ask the doctor to prescribe in the i.v. hanging bag of phenergan instead. Good luck! Phenergan doens't work well for me in pill form either.."

midnightmoon62 replied: "Why are you injecting the pill when phenegran is available as an IV med? You probably wont get it IV out of the hospital, but if you are in the hospital that is no problem. And if the nausea is that bad, you can possibly be arranged to receive IV phenegran at home."

Migraine due tomorrow or thursday...? Ok, I am 17 now, and I have been suffering from migraines since I was 15. They weren't as bad when I was younger, but over the year they have progressed and become more severe. I am pretty sure mine is hormone related. (My Aunt suffered from them til she was 20, and my grandma had them for 35 years til they finally found out it was due to her hormone pills - she hasn't had one since they took her off the medication) I am not going to be able to get seen by a doctor til my stepdad gets insurance.. so if you suffer from them, what helps you? When I wake up in the morning, I can feel one coming on. I have some medicine I got refilled recently.. It's not strong really, it kinda numbs you and makes you really tired. I cannot afford to miss anymore days at school. The medicines I am prescribed with our (250 mg of Naproxen tablets - for the pain, 25 mg of Promethazine - for the nausea) Ever heard of those too? Than you so much for all your answers. - Shannon

Jes replied: "It helps me to avoid caffeine when I feel one coming on and to try to take whatever time I can to close my eyes and put a cool towel over my eyes."

Heather R replied: "Caffiene helps a little bit with mine. :) Actually, Excedrin Migraine has caffiene in it."

Chas A replied: "Take a warm wash rag and place it on your forehead while you are lying down in a nice dark room with your eyes closed. This should help. JIC you didn't know, Migraines are due to the constriction of nerves in your brain, so anything cool or even cold showers can cause that to worses. Use warm everything when it comes to your head. :D"

Josie826 replied: "I used a medication called Frova that worked really well for me, but until you get some insurance.....anyway. The newer migraine medications not only help with the headache pain but help with the nausea also. When your dads insurance comes through, maybe you could try one of those. When I do not have access to my medication, I take 3 ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) 200 mg. each and 2 Extra Strength Excedrin. It usually knocks the headache out within the hour. I never had any luck with Naproxen for my migraines, but that was me."
