Question about Omnicef 300mg? If I missed my doses of omnicef 300mg today will it hurt to take both doses at once? The directions are 1 capsule every 12 hours.

Can I take Nyquil while on the antibiotic Omnicef? I'm on omnicef for an ear infection but I have an extremely bad cold too. I'm constantly coughing & I have a sore throat so, I was wondering if it'd be alright if I took nyquil with it because it helps me to sleep through the night when I have a cold w/o waking up from coughing. Thanks! (I'm taking 2 300mg capsules of omnicef per day)

Hi, rectnally I had a bit of a Bronchitis, and a common cold, which later on turned into a ear infection BTW Im 15) Anyways, I perscribed 600mg of CEFDINIR ( 2 300mg Capsules ) For 10 days. This was 4 days ago. Still I havent taken the medicine. I looked up Omnicef (CEFDINIR) Online, and I noticed people can VOMIT from it. I has cronic OCD and ANXIOTY and I CANNOT I repeat CANNOT do anything which involves vomit. SO. Im dead scared to try this Medicine. Right now Im experiencing less of ear cloggage than I did before and slightly less ear pain. But my throat still hirts, and its swollen, and the roof of my mouth hurts, and they both hurt when I swallow. Ive been taking Ibprofen for about 6-7 days to ease the pain and its been working VERY VERY well. I called my doctor today and he said Omnicef is very well tolerated. And I have generally a strong stomach. Mainly I take ammoxicilin and the Acute care center doctor said it wouldnt be broad enough. I really dont want to take this medicine, even though the doctor said it would be a good idea. If youve taken Omnicef DONT LIE and tell me exactly how it affected you. Thank you for all answers. could this combination kill me? (G 4= Generic for) 15 Methylprednisolone 4 mg (G 4 Medrol) pills + 69 sudafed PE pills + 5 omnicef 300mg pills + 11 Hydrocodone/APAP (g 4 Lortab(PAIN KILLER)) pills if this could kill me, how long would it take?

It sounds like you have one bad infection, possibly a sinus infection. The medrol pack makes the meds work more efficiently and the vicodin will take care of the pain. The omnicef is the antibiotic to make the infection clear up, take the medrol and it will work more efficiently. Take the pills as prescribed and feel better. These are not long term meds, and need to be taken accordingly for the infection to clear up. Good luck, and feel better."

Pneumonia?? I was dignosed 4 days ago with bronchitis. I have been taking my medication as prescrbied and been taking my albuterol inhaler. My doctor told me 4 days ago that the wheezing should go away by that night with using my inhaler. It hasnt gone away. I am still wheezing alot and coughing too. Could it be pneumonia? Also I am running a 101.2 fever since wednesday. She gave me Omnicef 300mg 2 pills once daily for 10 days. I am also very week where I can barely stand up. Should I have my mom come over and take me to the emergency room at the hospital??

glorious replied: "I'm no doctor, but it sounds like you need to get to a doctor. Bronchitis can easily turn into pneumonia and not getting the proper treatment can cause your heart to weaken. My sister had pneumonia and waited to see a doctor because she didn't have insurance and it caused serious heart damage. Don't mess with you health."

Doctor gave me Tramadol for pain for my ear infection? I have a inner and outer ear infection I was taking ibuprofen 200mg for the pain it would help a bit but I could still feel the pain! He gave me a antibiotic CEFDIDINIR generic for OMNICEF 300mg and some ear drops that I should instill 2 drops 4 x a day and then he gave me Tramadol 50mg for the pain it isn't working all I did was take it and I could feel the pain in my ear but the pain meds made me sick and I felt like I was going to throw up I had the dry heaves!!!!! I was sitting up and I literally had to lay down because I felt dizzy! Has anyone been given Tramadol for ear infection pain has it helped or not helped you? BTW : I can't eat I been having to eat mash taters and gravy because I can't chew and the pain is all around my ear and I have knott's under my ear down in my throat and my jaw is in pain and its locked up right now!!!!! OH IT HURTS SO BAD

Sandy Sandals replied: "Skip the Tramadol if it's making you sick and just take 600-800 mg ibuprofen. Also applying heat to your ear may help relieve the pain. I know it's hard but you gotta try to eat something to buffer the drugs on your stomach. Even chocolate milk may help, or drinking some chicken noodle soup. I feel for ya, ear aches are the worst!"

What is going on with my throat? Ok so about a week and a half ago, my throat was hurting pretty bad, so I go to the doctor and he tells me my throat was swollen and infected. He gave me an antibiotic called Omnicef 300mg 2x a day for 10 days. I took the medicine as directed and after finishing it, my throat still hurts. This is confusing me as well as scaring me. the glands on my neck are swollen. Is it that the medication wasnt strong enough? I doubt that becasue I looked it up online and they use this medication to treat pneumonia, skin infections, tonsilitus and other infections. So why hasn't it helped my throat? Could this be throat cancer or some other kind of serious condition???? Please help I'm very nervous. I will be returning to the doctor, I was just wondering if someone could give me a heads up as to what I'm dealing with here. I am 33 yrs old. Female. My only medical condition is hypothyroidism. I take 50mcg of synthroid for that. I am a smoker.

My stomach has been hurting from my antibiotic? A week ago, I had bad strep throat for four or so days. I was prescribed 300mg Cedefinir (Spelling?) which is Omnicef. I took two pills daily for like 5 to 7 days or such. After the first two days I had horrible stomach cramps. Well, it's been officially over a day and my stomach still hurts from this. Not anymore cramps, mind you, just a dull, eating pain in my gut. That, and I can't eat nearly as much as I used to; I'll eat 1/2 of something and then I'm just full, which is odd of me.

Everyone has bacteria in their stomachs, called Probiotics, or good bacteria, that aides in digesting and breaking down the food in your stomach. When you take antibiotics, you kill off all of this good bacteria, which leads to the stomach problems. I would recommend going to a health food store and pick up a bottle of probiotic capsuls. I take Jarro Darrow Probiotics, its usually in the refridgerated sections. If you cant get to a health food store, but eat some yogurt. Yogurt also contains a probiotic complex which should help some. If the pain persists, I would recommend calling your doctor. Good Luck."
